HDDEN started out in Holland in 2009 as an experimental playground for small Morton Feldman studies and some good old free jazz rogering. Trumpet player Eiríkur Orri Ólafsson, guitarist Jasper Stadhouders and drummer Onno Govaert made some noise together and soon enough they added a more structured, Appalachian sound to the mix. Last spring saw the addition of pianist and multi-instrumentalist Kristján Tryggvi Martinsson.
Their music has a very warm and inviting sound, with colourful abstractions and unorthodox instrumental techniques lying just beneath the surface.
The songs below were recorded at a small living room concert at Kristján's place.
